A Reflection of Life

By Neetha

A star at the corner, twinkled

Once prime peak

Now a slopy slip

Of old and gone fading

Rhyme -lost

Hunger creeped

Like an old lion

Who has lost its valour

Breaking crushed

Weary bones

Withered away

Whimsical fancies sling by

Profusly behind the bar

A gallop,

Like a wave sprung, new

Sudden but swift

Fresh and dashed over the shore

Propped up

A nerve -filling dart

Fostering the fury

Of long -seated, drunk

Disabled and lost

One  hot doomed day

Resembling the days yet not old

Sprung -rhythm

As in an aspiring dream

Life 's pun

Secrets of old age.
