A Bard-s Song
By Ananya Pandey
Once upon a time,
We talked, amongst moonlit stars
And didn't even realize
When words became poetry
When the sky became a paradise
And our love became a bard song
Once upon a time,
We travelled, to places
And within hearts
To untouched glass walls
Of carefree anonymous faces
But now that I knew you
In glory of love and memories
Until you became one
To live amongst the stars
Perhaps, they loved you too much
To want you as a star too
And yet here I ask
Is this how you die?
When words become dry
When a poet's song
Leaves the spring
For barren desert sands
And yet I sing,
Until my throat runs parched
Cracked lips, broken hearts
Until I burn my bard's flute in ashes
And rise like a Phoenix
Because to die, I need to be reborn again
To let you go, even though I still love you the same
To sing to the moon, & for the world
I learn to live again
