A Black New Year 2005
By Daniel Millard
A black New Year 2005
Nature's fury
Devastates
Without warning
Thousands snatched away
The others left
Mourning the one's they loved
In awe and disbelief
Wondering
Some thankful
Others anxious
Watching and waiting
Lord
Keep me from
Losing my footing
Easily tripped up
Manipulations
Quick to enter in
Unguarded innocents
Easily trusts sweet kindness
Candy-coated lips use
Every tricky tongue twisted opportunity
To feed on the smallest chance of stolen trust
Knowing not why
